Note: The papers of the estate of Ewing McNutt, brother to Joseph, indicates
that Joseph was a "nonresident heir"; by implication, therefore, he was
still alive in March 1829, and not living in Indiana at that time.

Note from Jack McNutt, dated 10 Feb 2003:
The LDS film #522904 arrived in Terre Haute a couple weeks ago and Beth
Olson copied the ALL of the McNutt information on that film. There is a
deed of Samuel McNutt and wife, Mary to Thomas & David Gwynne, a deed of
Joseph McNutt et al to Thomas & David Gwynne. Also, John McNutt's request
payment for services in the 1812 war via his attorney. There is another
document which I cannot read at all.[McNutt7.FTW]

A couple weeks ago, Judy Wright (a good friend) did some genealogy work
in Parke Co. IN. Of interest is there are apparently two different Samuel
McNutts. My Samuel McNutt and Samuel H. McNutt. In one deed his is listed
as Samuel H. McNutt of Wythe Co. Va. He apparently owned a lot of land. I
am going to research this a bit as I think his son is Dr. James H.
McNutt. I also think that the Samuel Mcnut in the 1820 Vigo Co. census is
in fact Samuel McNutt and is our relative.
