Captain Patrick Ewing's Bible shows he was son of Joshua Ewing of Cecil
Co MD. Captain Patrick Ewing served in American Revolutionary War. He
was most active and vigorous in the Patriot cause; he was at the
Commissary in Md. and at Valley. He was a member of the Maryland
convention that formed the Constitution in 1776 [McSherry's History 399],
and was Assistant Deputy in Cecil County, Maryland. His wife Jane Porter
died and he married her sister Elizabeth Porter. Ref. Ellsworth S.
Ewings chart on Joshua Ewings line. Joshua Ewing left Patrick and Robert
(oldest sons) a plantation he bought from Jared Nelson called "Borans
Forrest & "Addition To Success." Patrick was executor along with his
Mother Jane of Joshuas Will which is in Will Book 28, Pages 542-543-544
from HALL OF RECORDS, General Services Dept. P O Box 828, Annapolis, Md.
21401.

Rev. John Ewing helped his friend William Penn lay the rock markers that
divide the state of Pennsylvania from Maryland. He was appointed as the
first president of the Univ. of Pa. by Benjamin Franklin in l799. He was
a distinguished clergyman of Phildelphia.
