The list that I have of the children on David Delk and Patience Newsom,
which I beleive I obtained primary from Randolph Delk is as follows:
1. America Delk married 22 November 1799 John King, likely brother to
Elizabeth King. Marriage bond says "Monica"; bondsman Mark Gradey. [Notes
on marriage and bondsman is from I believe Jim King of Beaumont, TX
2. William Delk (died 1812 in North Carolina) married Elizabeth King.
Elizabeth King brought five small children with her to Bedford Co. TN in
1817 with Joseph Delk 3, John King, and their families. [note on TN comes
from other records.]
3. Joseph Delk (1781 - 1863) married 15 September 1804 Frances Dawson
(1780 -1880). Paul Delk's records say that Joseph Delk and Frances came
to Bedford Co., TN in 1817 and later moved to Maury Co, TN in mid-1850's
and finally to N. Mississippi. Other sources say to Tishimingo Co., MS.
After his death Frances returned to Maury Co., TN where she died in 1880
and is buried in the Delk Cemetery in Maury Co.
4. Newsom Delk
5. Mary (or Polly) Delk (born 16 August 1808) married Thomas Moore.
6. Sally Delk (born 19 July 1809) married Nathan Hartsfield.
7. Patience Delk (21 May 1810) married Alex Spence Head.
8. David Delk, Junior
9. Jacob Delk (died 1813). Under 21 in 1811; never married.)
10. Edith Delk. Under 21 in 1811.
Note says that the dates may be approximate. Order in question.
As noted, I beleive that this came primarily from V. Randolph Delk.
Memory says that he told me that he got at least a portion of this data
from the estate settlement for David Delk in Wake County, N.C. in 1811
--i.e. he obtained the listed heirs of David Delk from the record of
distribution.]

I have a petition of David Delk,Wake Co, NC (also listed as Dilke) vs
Newsom Delk and others for division of land that was left by Jacob Delk
to his siblings (he had no issue): Joseph Delk,Newsom Delk,brothers;
America Delk m. John King,Sally Delk m.Nathan Hartsfield, Polly Delk
m.Thomas Moore, Patience Delk m. Spencer Head, Edith Delk sisters; minor
children under 21 of William Delk desc.Mathew Delk, Kindred Delk,
Benjamin Delk and William Delk. These people had migrated to SC. The
final date on the petition was 1817. Thomas Moore was guardian for the
minor children.
I received this document from the NC Archives loose papers.
